- Because of the large amount of
deliveries, the weights at the stockyards only gained .6% from pay
weights at the feedyard after a 4% shrink.
- The cattle that were delivered
were typical crossbred steers with few animals over one quarter
brahmin. There was a heavy exotic
influence and a typical grade at most local plants would be 30-35%
choice. The USDA grader assessed
a 22% choice profile. There were
1% standards.
- There were 6.5% YG1, 70% YG2,
23.5% YG3
- 23 steers were rejected as
heavies and weighted 1410# and were sent to a local processor for
slaughter.
- The receiver of the cattle sent
the cattle to a local feedyard and the cattle will be marketed in a
month.
